I have been thinking that adding a culture from Africa would make a great addition to Millenaire. I was thinking that the obvious choice would be Abyssinia (present day Ethiopia). This is a rich culture with great architecture and interesting cultural artifacts that could make Millenaire that much more exciting. For the record, I am not Ethiopian or of Ethiopian descent (I live in Toronto Canada and am of Italian origin).
- Coffee comes from that part of the world and would be an obvious crop/commodity/crafted item that could be incorporated
- Other foods are injera (soft flat sourdough bread) and wat (injera with meat/turmeric sauces), and Tej (a mead or honey wine) see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian_cuisine
- Buildings such as the Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela would be fabulous (and they date from the right time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock-Hewn ... ,_Lalibela)
- Ethiopians claim to have the arc of the covenant housed in a medieval church - this would make a great lone building. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ark_of_th ... t#Ethiopia
I have started to play around with the import and export building functions and have started to build up an inventory of Abyssinian houses.
