millenaire 1.8.1

Post by Samsonyt » Sat Dec 06, 2014 4:08 pm

Does anyone know if millenaire will be updating to the new minecraft version? It seems as though many mods have not made the jump to 1.8 as well. Can someone help me to understand why this is?
Thank You

Nearly all mods, including this one, require Forge to run. So until there is a good, stable version of Forge for 1.8.x no mod is even going to bother to think about updating. It's usually 3-6 months after the Minecraft version comes out that we'll have this and people wil start updating.

Well, it's already been 3 months since 1.8 has was released, so you'll start seeing the first Forge versions soon. Actually I think the first Forge versions for 1.8 are out now. Although I would caution using them as the first releases are never stable and prone to crashes.

Hello! Since Forge is now out for 1.8, I was wondering is there an estimated date for a 1.8 update to Millenaire? I've really enjoyed playing it, but I also want to use the new 1.8 blocks, etc. Thanks!

Only Kinniken can answer that question, I haven't seen anything that hints when he may update it or even if he will. But we can only hope he is continuing to work on this fantastic mod in his spare time.

I think the mod creator should focus on fixing the current tags, adding new tags so the cretaing-players (people who like to use millenaire engine to create custom stuff) will be able to add more things in their games. Right now there is not a good faq that helps 100% builders to understand how to use the engine. And some intereting funstion like patrol or no-teleport tags are not working.

In a few words, i want to see millenaire correct its bugs so it will be more functional for builders.

Really waiting for a 1.8.xx version of Millenaire...

What makes so much time to develop compatibility after every update? Is it necessary for dev's to re-write entirely the source code or make really big modifications? I'm really wondering how big is the amount of work for you.

Anyway, thank you for such a nice work, this mod is really amazing ! For 1.8.xx, i'm going to wait !

It is very likely that the bug fixes will be included in the update as long as the known bugs are posted on the Bug Reports page so the dev will be aware of them.
